On July 12, 2014, Pouncey and his twin brother Mike—who is a center and guard for the Miami Dolphins—allegedly assaulted Riquan James, Niya Pickett, and Brentley Williams and harassed James with homophobic slurs outside a club in Miami, FL. According to a police report, there was only one suspect, listed as "an unknown male," who punched James and Pickett, leaving large, visible welts on their foreheads. Within an hour of the alleged incident, however, James and Pickett began posting photos of their injuries to social media, attributing them to the Pouncey twins. On July 25, 2014, James, Pickett, and Williams filed a civil lawsuit against the Pounceys, suing them for damages. The brothers were not charged with battery because of a lack of credible evidence.

Pouncey did not return Broadly's request for comment.
