Video: DEMON - "Luanda City Beats"

A blistering weekend in this chaotic African capital. Careful with the Jindungo peppers.

Luanda is a fast-paced city—or at least the video for "Luanda City Beats" would give you that impression. DEMON's new music video trails the Parisian house head as he steps off the airplane and into the Angolan capital for a weekend gig on the beach—the recording of which you can actually listen to here.

In between the airport and the DJ booth we follow him on a ride around the city in one of the city's iconic mini buses—blue and white vans called candongueiros, and we won't spoil the fun by telling you what kind of trouble he manages to get himself into. The track matches electro house head bangs with syncopated percussion, sparkling guitars and weightless vocals for a sound you probably haven't heard before. It's out November 25 on DEMON's debut EP City, from Parisian label La Tebwa.

Directed by Hugo Salvaterra, with executive production by Jorge Cohen for Geraçao 80. Keep up with DEMON on Facebook and grab a copy of the City EP on iTunes.
