Donald Trump's diminished campaign chairman and failed babysitter has reportedly left the Republican nominee's operation entirely following a major staff shake up, theWashington Postreports."This morning Paul Manafort offered, and I accepted, his resignation from the campaign," a statement from Trump's campaign reads. "I am very appreciative for his great work in helping to get us where we are today, and in particular his work guiding us through the delegate and convention process. Paul is a true professional and I wish him the greatest success."On Wednesday, the Trump campaign announced the hire of Breitbart media exec Stephen Bannon to serve as chief executive, as well as the arrival of Republican pollster Kellyanne Conway as campaign manager. Manafort was reportedly going to stay onboard as an advisor, but is now a goner after apparently failing to get the presidential candidate to clean up his act—and getting caught up in his own growing scandal.Bannon has reportedly encouraged Trump to run as an "unabashed nationalist," yet one of the first noteworthy developments since word of his arrival was Trump issuing a half-assed teleprompted apology for being a jerk sometimes.
