Report: Fort Worth Police Investigate Johnny Manziel for "Altercation" with Girlfriend [Updating]

Not four months after Johnny Manziel got into an argument with his girlfriend Colleen Crowley while driving—an argument in which Crowley accused Manziel of pushing her head against the glass window—Manziel has allegedly been involved in another domestic dispute. Like the prior incident in October, Manziel was not arrested, but Fort Worth police did confirm there was an incident and they are compiling a report.

It's unclear if the altercation was with Crowley; police did not name her specifically and only referred to an "altercation between Manziel and his girlfriend."

The Browns, who employ Manziel merely by technicality at this point, are aware of the incident but have declined to comment. To put context to this no comment, earlier in the week Browns Executive Vice President of Football Operations Sashi Brown told Mary Kay Cabot that "there's a chance" the Browns bring Manziel back. Meaning, before Manziel's most recent screw up, the Browns—the Browns—gave Manziel's roster chances a firm "eh, maybe."

Update: Police responded to a call at around 2:00 a.m. Saturday morning regarding a possible assault. They did not find the person who placed the call, but found Manziel's ex-girlfriend who said she was involved in a disturbance. She was otherwise uncooperative, but expressed concern for Manziel's "well-being." Police briefly searched for him, and later confirmed that he was "safe and in no danger." There is no mention of any injuries to the complainant, or anything, really, other than she was there and uncooperative.

It also appears the incident may have begun in Dallas, and continued to Fort Worth, so both departments are working together to determine if a crime occurred.

Update 2: From the Fort Worth Star-Telegram comes another bizarre mini-update. Apparently police used a helicopter to try to locate Manziel after his ex-girlfriend, whom he "possibly" assaulted, could not reach him.

There are plenty of weird things to unpack here, but the information we have on the extent to which police tried to locate Manziel, as opposed to the scant information we have on whether he actually assaulted his ex-girlfriend is pretty strange.
