Sharks fullback Ben Barba reportedly tested positive for cocaine following Cronulla's historic drought-breaking NRL Premiership win last month.

The Daily Telegraph is reporting that the State of Origin star tested positive for the drug four days after the NRL Grand Final victory against the Melbourne Storm on October 2.

The Daily Telegraph also wrote that, if the cocaine usage is confirmed, Barba could face a 12-week ban for using the drug.

The NRL allegedly contacted him and the Sharks about the positive result two weeks ago, with Barba soon to head to a rehab centre in Thailand.

The 27-year-old has been in the news for bad behavior before. After allegations of domestic abuse early in his career, the fullback had his reputation damaged by revelations of his regular involvement in a Sydney partying squad called the 'Epic Bender Crew.'

The former Bulldog and Bronco even had the letters 'EBC' tattooed on him.

Barba scored the opening try in the tense NRL final against the Storm, which the Sharks won 14-12.
