Broadly: Why do you oppose Trump's immigration orders?

Sumaya, 27, Toronto: It's wrong on so many levels. You don't even have to be Muslim to understand why that's wrong. It's racist, it's Islamophobic, it's wrong on every single level. We've seen this happen throughout history—we won't let it happen again.

Does it affect you or your family?

The ban doesn't affect my family, but the rhetoric that's going around, the anti-Islam rhetoric that's going around? Yeah it's affecting us in every way. In my workplace, while I wait for the TTC, I hear people say remarks that they think they can get away with. Now people have the right to be racist, and there's nothing wrong with it apparently. My sister actually just got told—while she was feeding my niece at a mall—got told to go back home. This is our home. Where are we supposed to go?

Love overpowers hate. You can't divide us. You can't divide us with your rhetoric.
