'I Fear That He'll Ban My Country Too'

This is why I oppose Trump's immigration restrictions.
Art by Kinza

This interview is part of Broadly's Voices Against the Ban series. You can read more of these voices here.

Broadly: Why do you oppose Trump's immigration restrictions?

Kinza, 14, New York: I am against Donald Trump's immigration ban because it's racist, it stereotypes. Everybody should be allowed here because immigration made America. I fear that he'll ban my country too.

Where is that?

Pakistan.

Do you feel directly threatened or affected by this?

Not directly, but I do feel threatened because everybody here is like my sibling. If one person is affected it's going to affect every person in America. So everybody needs to stand and support all these Muslims.

I noticed you're holding a picture, did you want to talk about it?

So Donald Trump says Muslims are a threat to America. I believe we're not because I'm a Muslim myself and I just wanted to show Donald Trump wearing a hijab because he should approve of Muslims.
