Prior to Uranus's discovery in 1781, Saturn was the planet assigned to you, Aquarius. But you're a rebel. Having the same planetary signifier for hundreds of years just doesn't interest you. Uranus was discovered, and you decided it was time for an upgrade—and that's what Uranus is all about: innovation and revolution.

Expect shifts in understanding to take place early this month. Keep an open mind. Don't be surprised if there's drama and disagreements—enjoy the brilliant, electric energy in the air. Mars in Aries makes a harmonious connection to your traditional ruling planet, Saturn, in Sagittarius on March 5. This will bring grounding energy to your communication. Things are unpredictable, thanks to Uranus, but Saturn will create a sense of stability.

On March 4, Venus begins its retrograde in Aries—again, the communication sector of your chart will be stimulated. You may need to accept that your phone will ring off the hook this month. Maybe keep it turned off? Venus retrogrades are intense, and you're going to need time to think.

Venus rules all the good stuff: love, money, beauty, and harmony. During this Venus retrograde, you will think and talk about what's valuable to you. Money and self-worth will be highlighted when Venus reenters Pisces on April 2, but we'll talk more about this in next month's horoscope. Venus finally ends its retrograde on April 15. In the meantime, reflect on the issues you worked with in March and April 2009—many of these themes will return!

On March 9, Mars enters Taurus, activating the home and family sector of your chart, followed by communication planet Mercury on March 31. Taurus is a peaceful, sensual sign, at least until it gets in a bad mood—then it's an unstoppable wall of fury. This period will be grounding, but it will also spur you to change and focus on issues that hit close to home (like, literally, your family, your house, or apartment) and on boundaries.

A full moon in Virgo lands on March 12, illuminating a sensitive, psychic sector of your chart. Issues of sex and intimacy will be highlighted, and you'll wonder how secure your relationships are—how deeply can you trust someone, or depend on them? Financial issues may also come to the fore, especially tricky things like debts, taxes, or inheritances.

Full moons are always emotional, but this one will be especially sentimental and tender for you—you're going through some big transformations after all. Letting go of the past isn't easy. Today's energy is sober and focused, not light and happy.

Virgo is known for thoughtfulness and diligence—take a tip from Virgo by being mindful. Communication planet Mercury will clash with Saturn, the planet of obstacles, so approaching the world practically and patiently is your best bet.

Mercury meets Uranus in Aries on March 26, bringing shocking news and, on the plus side, major lightning bolts of inspiration and genius. Mercury is the planet of the mind, and electric Uranus is the genius of the zodiac. In speedy, strong Fire sign Aries, the energy is brilliant.

One of the most intense days this month is March 30, when Jupiter in Libra squares (an intense astrological aspect) Pluto in Capricorn. So much talk has occurred this month, but now the world will know if you can put your money where your mouth is. How far are you willing to go to defend your beliefs?

This is a powerful period of transformation. Don't expect to get much sleep. If you're traveling or in school, this will certainly be a time to watch out for; Jupiter is activating the sector of your chart that rules exploration and learning.

Spiritually and emotionally, you are clearing out gunk from your subconscious mind—expect issues you usually stuff down into some dark corner of your soul to come bubbling out. This is an opportunity for rebirth, but only if you take the high road. If you act shitty, shitty things will come right back at you. Pluto rules transformation and power, but it's still the lord of the underworld—obsessive, power hungry, and manipulative.
