via USA Today Sports

On March 5, 2015, Miller was arrested and charged with battery on a spouse or co-habitant, according to a report released by the Santa Clara, CA police department. Police responded to a disturbance at Posh Bagel at Santa Clara's Rivermark shopping plaza. According to the report, Miller allegedly "pushed the victim causing her to fall to the ground and destroyed her cell phone." Miller pleaded not guilty to misdemeanor vandalism and then pleaded no contest to reduced misdemeanor charges of disturbing the peace and received a mandatory 16 weeks of domestic violence counseling.

The NFL has not yet taken any action against Miller.

When reached for comment, a representative for Miller told Broadly: "The charge was reduced to a disturbing the peace charge, based on the fact that independent eye witnesses corroborated that there was no physical contact, battery, or violence of any nature in the incident. The NFL completed their own investigation and reached the same conclusion. [Miller] didn't plead no contest to any battery or domestic violence–related issues. In order to resolve the case, because the district attorney would not dismiss the charge, [Miller] agreed to plead guilty to a misdemeanor disturbing the peace charge, which is like shouting in the street. At the time it was extremely annoying—very disheartening—because Bruce is a fine young man and very well regarded in the community and in the organization."
