As a Capricorn, you hate inefficiency. It's wasteful—both of time (which is ruled by your planetary ruler, Saturn) and of money (which as an Earth sign, is rather important to you). October begins with Mercury retrograde in Libra. While retrogrades are not inherently evil, they have a backward-feeling vibe, which can prompt you to wonder whether or not your wasting time and energy.

This Mercury retrograde has affected your career and your reputation. This sounds freaky at first, I know, but you can totally work this energy to your benefit, and here's how: Don't work on new stuff in your career or around your rep; instead, focus on the old stuff. Don't post new selfies; focus on TBTs. Don't propose new projects; wrap up the ones you've already begun. Don't try to reach out to new connections; reach out to old mentors, colleagues and friends. Was there someone in the past you wanted to partner with? Now's the time. This Mercury retrograde doesn't need to be "inefficient"— just use the energy for what it's good for: reworking, rethinking and revisiting.

Venus enters fellow Earth sign, Virgo, on October 8, which will usher in a welcome change in vibe. Things around romance, beauty, and prosperity (all the good Venus stuff, basically) have been really awkward and intense for weeks. It'll all begin working itself out early this October—you'll feel "on the same page," as cheesy as that sounds, with the people around you. In fact, interacting with like-minded individuals who share similar philosophies or goals around travel or exploring may be coming your way. It's an excellent time to introduce yourself to new people or concepts, or even sign up for a class. The next day, October 9, Mercury goes direct, officially bringing things forward around career and your reputation—yay!

The next day, October 10, could feel a little overwhelming, when lovely Venus in logical Virgo squares taskmaster Saturn in Sagittarius. You'd love to have control over everything, but unfortunately, you don't. Virgo wants to fix everything; however, Saturn imposes limits—not everything can be worked out at all times. Fortunately, though, situations do shift, and sometimes the right timing is all your need. You may hear a resounding no on October 10, but the next day, October 11, does have some happy, bright, and powerful stuff going on: Abundant and lucky Jupiter trines Pluto, the planet of intensity, allowing us to do some major transformation around growth and gains. Will the boundaries you faced on the 10th find a way to expand on the 11th? Possibly!

The New Moon in Libra on October 12 will bring some fresh, new beginnings around your career and the way people see you. This feeling of renewal is much needed after the retrograde! If some funky shit went on during the retrograde that you're afraid had a negative—or even just confusing or weird—impact on the way people see you, this New Moon in cooperative, friendly (and logical) Air sign Libra will help balance things out again.

Mercury, still in Libra, will sextile your ruling planet, Saturn, the next day, October 13, creating some interesting conversations around your career and how you recharge after all the hard work you do. Do you feel like you're getting enough rest and time to relax to balance out all the work you're doing? The conversation that goes down on the 13th may bring some help, advice, or support around you finding more space for yourself. If you're currently not working, or if you feel lost about what direction to head in, this New Moon in Libra and the sextile between Mercury and Saturn may point you in a supportive, positive new direction. Reach out to people you look up to—the conversations will be valuable.

But enough about work! October 23 brings an energy shift, when the Sun leaves Libra and enters intuitive Water sign Scorpio. Scorpio is the sign of transformation, so you'll likely find yourself thinking of ways to breathe new life into your, well, life. Perhaps some new goals and dreams will pop up? New friendships and connections are also certainly on the way. Scorpio is a Water sign and you, Cap, are an Earth sign. Your two elements blend beautifully, so definitely expect some more creative, helpful, and easy vibes toward the end of the month.

But that doesn't mean the end of October will be boring—expect a little drama when Mercury in Libra opposes Uranus in Aries on October 25. Issues around teamwork will come up, too. Are you into being on a team? Would you rather work alone? Try to find some middle ground. It shouldn't be too hard to find a compromise everyone will be happy with because we do have some very good vibes on this day: Venus and Jupiter meet with each other in Virgo, making very lucky and lovely energy together in the sky. Venus seeks to get along with everyone—it's all about harmony and beauty, and Jupiter is the planet of abundance. Sure, there will probably be some drama with Mercury and Uranus working out their differences, but when it comes down to it, we all want to get along and be happy.

That said, it's a delicate day: Venus in Virgo can be critical and Jupiter can overdo things— people will definitely feel sensitive about criticism today, so don't "go there." Enjoy the open, generous energy, and be kind! If you notice someone in your life enjoying being cruel today, trust that they're dickheads and get rid of them. Today's vibe is a complicated mixture of wanting to be free while also wanting to have those that love you around; you'll feel sensitive, yet also open to the world. It's important to be gentle with yourself and others.

Some romance and flirtation is also on the menu this month, as is a boost to your creativity, during the Full Moon in luxurious Taurus on October 27. Taurus is a sensual energy, and this Full Moon will inspire you to find some pleasure. Even if you're not in a flirtatious mood, you'll find yourself feeling energized, and you likely will feel encouraged to pick up a paintbrush or a pen and paper. Full Moons are times of illumination, so expect some clarity in your life around creativity, sensuality, flirtation, and fun. October 30 will also bring some interesting communication your way when the Sun in Scorpio contacts fellow Water sign Pisces and the dreamy, artsy planet Neptune. Perhaps some poetry will land in your inbox? Or some deep conversations over glasses of wine will come your way?

While the beginning of the month feels like all work and no play, by the end of the month, things will even out. You'll have plenty of opportunity to correct any imbalances that occurred over September (which was a crazy busy month), as well as during the beginning of October. Even if you feel like you're working on a lot on things that you shouldn't be wasting your time on, I promise you're not wasting your energy. Sometimes things need to be redone and looked over, so don't feel like you're squandering time, or money, or your talents in doing so. By the end of the month, your focus will be on creativity, socializing, and romance. Lovely Venus, warrior Mars, and abundant Jupiter will all be in Virgo, an Earth sign just like you—things will flow easily, and inefficiency will not be a word in your vocabulary.
