Libra, March 2017

The vibe is electric, chaotic, and inspiring—so many possibilities are in the air early this month! Uranus is the planet of surprise, invention, and revolution, so things will be exciting and, very likely, dramatic. Jupiter is the planet of good luck and growth, but it exaggerates anything it touches—so expect things to be over the top.

Stress will be felt in your partnerships (and, to clarify, these are romantic and platonic partnerships) if you're clinging to the old way of doing things, or if one (or both!) of you is being inflexible, failing to give the other enough breathing room. Freedom is important right now. No one will appreciate feeling tied down early this month, and it will lead to unexpected drama if one or both of you can't give the other space.

Through space and freedom, brilliant ideas and important changes will be made that will lead to everyone's highest good. Jupiter might love to exaggerate, but it's still a planet that cares about doing the right thing. Uranus might be chaotic, but it craves forward movement and growth.

Your ruling planet, Venus, will begin its retrograde in you opposite sign, Aries, on March 4. This is major for your relationships. Venus rules love, money, style, and harmony, and when it's retrograde, these themes intensify, and you will see this play out in your partnerships. This is a tremendous time to reflect on what you value in a partner.

What were you going through back in March and April of 2009? Themes from back then will come up again. Also, watch out: You will likely run into people from your past. Venus will briefly dip into Pisces on April 2, and this period of the retrograde will require you to adjust. It will stir up issues at work and around your daily habits. (But we'll talk more about this in next month's horoscope.)

Venus is your ruling planet, so whenever it does something in the sky, we know you will feel it in your life. Venus wants to feel valued, loved, beautiful, and calm—please kick out anyone in your life who isn't supporting you in these very valid goals!

The Jupiter/Uranus opposition will give you a taste of freedom; it will show you how else life could be. (That is, unless you were in a suffocating relationship, in which case: Run!) How did it make you feel? Reflect on this before Venus goes direct on April 15.

Action planet Mars enters Taurus in March, followed by Mercury on March 31. What does this mean for you, Libra? You're going to realize how much you rely on others—or, how little you can depend on people. After feeling so free at the beginning of the month, thanks to Jupiter and Uranus, this will be an uncomfortable realization—but this is a powerful time to transform!

Now that you're able to recognize how deeply enmeshed certain relationships are, you can do something about it. On the plus side, this will be a passionate time. Issues of sex will come up, and there will be plenty of talk about personal things, so if you've been hoping to understand someone better, this is the time.

What should you be careful of? Financial issues, especially relating to debts, taxes, or inheritances, will come up, and in your relationships, issues of who owns what, or who always ends up paying the bills, will need to be worked out.

A full moon in Virgo arrives March 12, encouraging you to slow down. The vibe will be tense as hell. Please include keeping your phone off as part of how you unwind. Communication issues will flare up; Mercury in Pisces will clash with Saturn in Sagittarius. Commuting will be a total drag. There's pressure to get things done, but your head may not be in it. Stay under the covers and rest your overly active brain. If you have to go out and do things, realize that the vibe isn't light or cheerful, it's sober and focused.

Focus shifts back to your relationships when communication planet Mercury enters Aries on March 13, followed by the Sun on March 20 (the spring equinox!). Venus retrograde in Aries has you reflecting on relationship issues, but once chatty Mercury enters the scene, you can bet there will be plenty of talk. And the Sun? The Sun is a gigantic spotlight—no issue will be able to hide in the shadows when it comes around.

The Sun meets Venus retrograde in Aries on March 25, which means people will be eager to compromise—everyone just wants harmony, which is a good thing for your partnerships, Libra! Often, you're the only one trying to keep the peace. Of course, Venus is retrograde, so the atmosphere is still intense as hell, but hey, at least they're trying.

Mercury meets Uranus in Aries on March 26, which will bring plenty of surprise news and conversations, and perhaps even a chance meeting. Excellent ideas will brew up today. The energy is fresh and exciting, and on the next day, March 27, there is a new moon in Aries, bringing a fresh start to your relationships! This is a wonderful time to perform a ritual embracing a new journey.

One of the most intense days this month is March 30, when Jupiter, in your sign, will square (a stressful astrological aspect) Pluto in Capricorn. During this important time, clarify your boundaries. Issues about your home and family will come to the fore, and you're going to feel sensitive.

Powerful transformations will be made, Libra. My warning to you is to make sure that whatever choices you make are rooted in integrity. Jupiter exaggerates, and Pluto is the lord of the underworld—it's shady and obsessive. Pluto is not an energy that's easy to work with, and adding Jupiter to the mix makes it all the more overwhelming. It's a whole lot easier to go through when you know you're doing the right thing!
