Broadly: Why do you oppose Trump's immigration restrictions?

Porochista, 39, Tehran/Los Angeles: It is not just un-American, it is immoral. There is absolutely no reason to single out the countries he has for the reasons he has. It is discrimination in its most elemental form.

How do these new restrictions impact you or your family?

My father is not a US citizen and he has a green card. My mother and I became US citizens 15 years ago, but our US passports still have our birthplaces as Iran. I worry that since this legislation is absurdly unlawful the discrimination could extend to naturalized citizens—or, hey, really just any brown person a racist could think of as Muslim.

"If I could tell President Trump one thing about these immigration restrictions, I would say…"

I don't think even VICE Media could print the words I have for him on this.

Do you have any additional comments about the new immigration orders?

This needs to be treated as the crisis that it is. No one will come out clean in a society drenched in such hate.
