Pisces, March 2017

You know how to slip out of a tricky situation, Pisces, but there's no escaping the month ahead!

Happy solar return, Pisces! February was wild—thanks to two eclipses (one was in your sign, forever altering who you are and how you express yourself), but March brings its own drama. You know how to slip out of a tricky situation, Pisces, but there's no escaping the month ahead!

You are all about abundance, so that means you have more than just one ruling planet, unlike most signs. Jupiter's been your ruling planet since the old days, and, as of Neptune's discovery in the 19th century, the sea-god Neptune has also been assigned to you. Both Jupiter and Neptune are busy this month, which means you will be, too.

Neptune was discovered during the invention of photography and the rise of séances and spiritualism. It's the planet of illusion and delusion. It's whimsical and romantic, but on a bad day, it can be paranoid and hazy—kind of like you, Pisces! When the Sun and Neptune meet on March 1, expect a big boost in creativity, a heightening of your psychic abilities, and, if you're not careful, confusion about what's true or just a dream.

Jupiter, your other ruling planet, is the planet of good luck and growth. It's the traditional ruler of your sign, my fishy friend, which is wonderful since it's such a blessed planet; however, Jupiter isn't just about winning lottery tickets. Because it's the planet of growth, it will expand anything: luck, but also crappy things, like stress. Jupiter exaggerates, overindulges, and goes overboard, just like you, Pisces, at an all-you-can-eat-and-drink brunch. (Because, let's be honest, you wouldn't waste your time at a brunch unless the mimosas were unlimited.)

Jupiter, in Air sign Libra, runs into some trouble when it opposes electric Uranus in Fire Aries on March 2. Sparks will fly, and hopefully you won't get zapped. You'll be pushed to confront an unexpected issue concerning money, or on an emotional level, you'll discover that a relationship is costing you more than you expected. The surprises and drama that go down will reveal how the give-and-take in your partnerships can improve. One of the lessons you'll likely take from this is that depending too much on others isn't good for your self-esteem. Autonomy and independence are key if you want to keep your sanity.

Venus will begin its retrograde in fierce Fire sign Aries on March 4, and will end in your sign, Pisces, on April 15. What does this mean for you? This is an important time to figure out what's valuable to you. Venus is the planet of love, but also of money, which will be a focus for you while Venus is retrograde in Aries. What does wealth mean to you? Abundance? Security? Venus also rules beauty, and your self-esteem will come up for examination. Do you place your self-worth on your bank statement?

On April 2, Venus will retrograde out of Aries and go into your sign. You'll feel Venus's proclivity for vanity when this happens; you will be lost in your mirror, reflecting on whether you're into your look, or if you're presenting yourself the way you want to be seen. Do you feel comfortable in your skin?

First impressions aren't everything—but they're definitely a thing. How do you think people perceive you? While Venus is retrograde in your sign, you'll certainly feel pressure to find answers to many of these questions, but you'll also be more devilish than usual. You will have a hard time resisting something (or someone) that is forbidden, and as Venus winds down its retrograde, you'll be at max restlessness and eagerness to be bad.

You will have a hard time resisting something (or someone) that is forbidden, and you'll be at max restlessness and eagerness to be bad.

Think back to March and April 2009; this Venus retrograde will kick up many of the same issues around love, beauty, and attraction, and especially money, worth, and value. Don't be surprised if you run into old flames: This is a retrograde after all! A retrograde planet reviews the steps it has taken through the zodiac, which means you too will be reviewing the journey you have been on, and running into people with whom you still have a story to play out.

Mars enters solid, stubborn Taurus on March 9. You're known for your go-with-the-flow attitude, Pisces; however, when warrior planet Mars is in the sign of the bull, you'll be inclined to stand your ground. This is a fantastic time to do paperwork or send an email you've been avoiding thanks to Mars's straightening abilities. If you still feel like you need more help, wait until Mercury, the planet of the mind, enters Taurus on March 31, and you'll be good to go!

A full moon in Virgo arrives on March 12, activating the relationship sector of your chart. Virgo is a down-to-earth, analytical, diligent energy—the perfect counter to your dreamy, poetic, nonlinear ways. Finding balance, especially in relationships, will be big. If you're feeling uncertain about what needs to shift in your relationships, don't worry—the light of the full moon will reveal all. Full moons are a time of culmination, so you can bet there's a climax in store for you, Pisces!

Your relationships won't be all that's on your mind during this full moon: Your professional goals and reputation will also be a topic of conversation; you will be pushed to make choices. That's because Mercury, in your sign, will clash with the planet of hard work and responsibility, Saturn, in Sagittarius.

Communication planet Mercury enters Aries on March 13, illuminating the sector of your chart that rules your finances, followed by the Sun on March 20. The new moon in Aries arrives on March 27, so expect the second half of the month to revolve around material matters. You're not a materialistic person at all, Pisces, and you hate having to worry about mundane shit like your bank balance, but it's going to be unavoidable this month.

If you're feeling uncertain about what needs to shift in your relationships, don't worry—the light of the full moon will reveal all.

This new moon is a magical time to cast a money spell! Aries is a Fire sign that likes to go hard and fast, so any kind of spirituality will pack a strong punch. Not into casting spells? Don't worry. Aries's fierce-as-fuck energy will back you up if you're in any negotiations. New moons are new beginnings, so this is a wonderful time to rethink your spending habits or what you're earning.

Also during this new moon in bright and shiny Aries—Mars in Taurus will make a harmonious connection with dreamy Neptune, boosting your intuition and creativity, and offering an easy, confident vibe around communication.

One of the most intense days this month is March 30: the square (a stressful astrological aspect) between Jupiter in Libra and Pluto in Capricorn. Bad habits will kick you in the butt, Pisces. The atmosphere is competitive when Jupiter and Pluto clash; people become obsessive, single-mindedly clawing their way to the top, consumed by their need for power and control. Will you be one of these people? Part of why this will be so stressful for you, Pisces, is because you're trying to figure out where you fit in, who your friends are, and who you can trust. You're leaving an old phase of your life behind and entering new territory. You have big dreams for your future—but will you achieve your goals at any cost? Are you morally aligned with the people you're surrounding yourself with?

You're leveling up, but the climb to the top is never easy. You'll get there! See you next month, Pisces!
