Pisces, September 2015

This month will prove that you're not just some psychic, sensitive fish swimming around—you're also a bad bitch who means business, who's capable of doing pretty much anything, no matter what's retrograding or being eclipsed.

In our monthly horoscopes, we provide a more in depth look at what's happening in the sky. If you are not a Pisces and/or don't care about Pisces, you can read the rest of our monthly horoscopes here.

It's back-to-school season, Pisces. Are you into it? Probably not! You didn't get much time to unwind this summer, with mix-ups, plenty of rescheduling, and lots of tinkering happening in your day-to-day life due to Venus retrograde in Leo.

Leo is a glamorous, warm, passionate sign—one that Venus, the planet of love, prosperity, and beauty, adores spending time in. However, when retrograde, the vibe's a little wistful, the focus is turned inward, and we all feel a little deflated around Venusian themes. Things will perk up a bit on September 1, when Venus and Mars meet in the sky, but the real fun begins on September 6 when Venus turns direct. Leo is a pretty dramatic sign, but so are you, Pisces: Venus turning direct will light the creative fire in your heart again and bring the sparkle back to your everyday life. Venus retrograde, in addition to fucking with you day-to-day routine, has also found you reflecting on your health and your habits. Have you discovered something in your life, Pisces, that you could adjust to make your physical existence a little more healthy and vibrant?

There's a New Moon Solar Eclipse in your opposite sign, Virgo, on September 13. We love New Moons, even though they are really pretty freaky—way back in the day, you were totally fucked if your lamp ran out of oil in the forest in the middle of the night on a New Moon. You couldn't see shit. During this New Moon solar eclipse, you might feel like you can't see what's happening either. Eclipses have a fast-paced, magical, ominous, echoing, intense vibe to them, but as stressful and fantastic as a New Moon solar eclipse may be, it will bring you the new beginnings that you need in your life (even if you don't exactly want them).

Virgo is your opposite sign in the zodiac (Virgo's all about routine, ritual and hard, while you're just all over the place, partying, sleeping in, and being a fuck up— haha, you know I'm kidding). Whenever we deal with our opposite sign, we know relationships will play a huge part of the story. This eclipse will pull in new beginnings in your entanglements and put you on a path to deeper intimacy. Expect lots of transformation and exploration of your emotional self and your soul this mid-September. We have another eclipse later this month, but first let's talk about…

September 17: One of the craziest days of the month for you, Pisces. Mercury turns retrograde in lovely Libra; Jupiter, your ruling planet, opposes Neptune, your new ruling planet, which happens to be in your sign; and Saturn enters Sagittarius. Luckily, Pisces, you are pretty good at managing lots of information at once— your mind is ultra flexible because are a mutable sign. While this day will be completely bananas, I think you'll be able to keep up with it all.

Everyone wants to besmirch Mercury retrograde, but Pisces, you and I both know it's the holiest time of the year: when running late should be respectable, when decisions should be held off until we really get the feel of what's going on. A time to rewind and redo. Mercury is the planet of communication, so, during the retrograde, some conversations or agreements will need to be rethought and reconsidered. Since the retrograde is happening in Libra, this will be especially true around Libra ruled things; for you, Pisces, that will have a lot to do with sharing and intimacy. Maybe you're not ok with your friend always using your toothbrush when they sleep over. Maybe you don't want to have a fuck buddy. Or maybe you totally do. These intimate, sometimes icky, sometimes difficult to talk about, issues will come up for reconsideration this month.

Once upon a time, we didn't know what planets were beyond Saturn. Back then, Jupiter—the planet of growth and philosophy—was your ruling planet. Nowadays, we also have Neptune as your ruling planet, a planet discovered during the rise of spiritualism and the innovation of photography. Neptune is a dreamy planet, often associated with art and spirituality, but also with delusion and confusion. Jupiter and Neptune are very similar: They're both expansive, spiritual energies, and they both hold a lot of sway over you, my little fish. On September 17, they will oppose in the sky. What this will mean for you, Pisces, I don't know. Will you feel torn? Or will you feel like you can finally see something clearly? Oppositions ask us to find balance, but they also bring us illumination. Maybe you'll have a little of both. Either way, when Jupiter and Neptune collide, we must question our expectations and wonder if something has been blown out of proportion. What lies have you been buying into? This will especially affect your relationships, both romantic and otherwise.

Saturn will also enter Sagittarius on September 17, making this one of the most insanely busy days of the month. Saturn is the planet of restriction and obstacles, but if we can work well with Saturn, we'll get awesome rewards: Work with whatever sign Saturn's currently hanging out in, and you're basically guaranteed for success. Sagittarius is a party animal, for sure, but it's also a very optimistic, philosophical, driven sign. Sagittarius, the archer, is always pointing its arrow toward some goal. What's your goal, Pisces? Saturn will be in Sagittarius until December 17, 2017; until then, Saturn is going to ask you to focus on success. Ignore your responsibilities at work, and the consequences will suck (expect major disappointments in your home life and relationships if you're unable to pull it together on the work front). Saturn briefly dipped into Sag from December 23, 2014, until June 14, 2015: Think back to this time period for clues on what you'll be working with over the next two or so years.

The Sun enters Libra, an intellectual Air sign all about balance and harmony, on September 23, the Fall Equinox. That energy will be very helpful the next day, September 24, when pushy warrior Mars enters your opposite sign, Virgo, putting on the heat in your relationships. Expect aggression and passion, mixed in with a little bit of that Virgo perfectionist energy.

Thank goodness for the Sun in balanced, diplomatic Libra. Watch out for September 24: Mercury retrograde in Libra will challenge Pluto, the planet of power. Beware of manipulative words and sharp tongues. Call in a third party if someone gets a little crazy around taking control or steamrolling you. Mediation is always helpful whenever Pluto is involved, and during a Mercury retrograde—when we're thinking a little more poetically and a little less logically—a third person to aid the process is a goddess-send.

Our second eclipse of the month lands on September 27: The Full Moon lunar eclipse in Aries will bring a totally new flavor to your month. You've been working super hard, thinking a lot about your relationships, but cash flow and prosperity have maybe been a little on the back burner. This eclipse will change all of that. Expect big news around your finances or material matters in general. Be super careful about your money—you don't want your funds to be eclipsed out of your life. Aries is a fiery, independent sign, and this eclipse will find you discovering just how much you can do on your own, especially around prosperity.

We think of Water signs as being ultra spiritual, empathetic, and unconcerned with the material world, but, Pisces, we're all living here on earth, and you've got to deal with everyday stuff just like everyone else. This summer has certainly proved that to you! This September's issues will mostly center around your wallet/cash flow, partnering with people in realistic and productive ways, and you setting your sights on some new accomplishments. This month will prove that you're not just some psychic, sensitive fish swimming around—you're also a bad bitch who means business, who's capable of doing pretty much anything, no matter what's retrograding or being eclipsed.
