Taurus, March 2016

The eclipses this month will bring big transformations to you friendships and your everyday life.

In our monthly horoscopes, we provide a more in depth look at what's happening in the sky. You can read the rest of our monthly horoscopes here.

Your season, spring, is almost here! The Sun is currently in Pisces, the last sign of the zodiac (and the last sign of winter), where it's illuminating the sector of your chart that rules friendship, community, and your hopes and dreams for the future. Lots of change is happening this month, starting with two planets shifting signs on March 5: Communication planet Mercury enters Pisces, and warrior Mars enters free-spirited Fire sign Sagittarius.

Imaginative, psychic Pisces is an interesting sign for logical, detail oriented Mercury to spend time in. Because Pisces occupies the sector of your chart that rules connection and community, Mercury rolling through this part of your chart will bring you lots of news about your friends. You'll also find yourself analyzing your dreams and goals in a more focused way.

Mars in adventurous Fire sign Sagittarius will inspire you to conquer some issues you've been a little hesitant to start working on. Sag is a sign that's super concerned about doing the right thing, so expect some wrongs to get righted. Financial issues you're sorting out with other people will also get addressed, as will more complicated emotional situations concerning intimacy or even death. Don't be scared, Taurus: Sagittarius is a brave sign, and most importantly, it has faith.

Back to your friendships and community: March 8 brings the solar eclipse in Pisces, which will show you your connections in a new light. Eclipses are very intense: They bring us unexpected news, tear things away that are no longer serving us, and bring us new experiences.

After this eclipse, you'll have a better idea about with whom you want to spend time. You might notice that you've outgrown some of your friendships: This is absolutely a hard transition to make, but you'll really do yourself a favor if you can release these relationships and move forward with your life.

On March 12, your ruling planet, Venus, enters Pisces, a sign it absolutely loves to be in. Venus rules love, beauty, and money, so it hanging out in the sign of limitlessness is absolutely awesome. In addition, Venus entering the sector of your chart that was just touched by the eclipse will bring some good vibes to your social life. You'll definitely feel a boost in sociability due to this transit.

The spring equinox arrives on March 20, with the Sun entering bright Fire sign Aries. Mercury also enters Aries the next day, on March 21. You'll find yourself entering a more private, independent mood. So much of this month has been focused on your friendships, but when the Sun enters Aries—a sign that can be pretty self-centered at times—you'll be super focused on yourself and getting the alone time and rest that you need. Your imagination and intuitive powers will also get a boost during this time.

Before you completely go into hermit mode, your ruling planet Venus will meet dreamy, hazy Neptune on March 20, which will bring some confusion (and maybe some fun?) to your social life. You're very realistic, Taurus, but your ruling planet Venus is a total romantic, so when it meets the planet of fantasy, Neptune, you can pretty easily get whisked off your feet. That said, Neptune rules illusion and delusion, so today could bring some frustration. Just be your usual, down-to-earth self, Taurus, and you'll be fine. Be discriminating about what information people tell you, but enjoy whatever fun comes your way.

March 23 is one of the most intense days of the month: Jupiter challenges Saturn, the Sun meets Mercury in Aries, and we have the Lunar Eclipse in Libra.

With the planet of the ego, the Sun, and the planet of logic, Mercury, sitting together in independent Aries, you'll be inspired to think from a more me–focused perspective. I really want you to be careful today about being way too stuck in your thinking. The Sun is the center of the universe, and as such, is used to getting its way. Aries is the first sign (the baby!) of the zodiac, and as such is used to getting its way as well.

I really want you to reflect today on how important it is that you get your way—it's probably not that important. You'll live if you have to find a compromise, I promise. There's an eclipse in the sign of balance and justice, Libra, today, so if you refuse to be fair and cooperative, you'll miss out on a lot of positive transformation.

Before we discuss the eclipse, let's talk about the Jupiter/Saturn square, and, again, a quick reminder: You'll really want to have your way today. A lot of sensitive, private worries will bubble up, and it might make you feel insecure and thus push you into me first self-preservation mode, but it's encouraged that you relax, think objectively, use your listening skills, and open up to cooperation.

Lucky, abundant Jupiter is currently hanging out in flawless fellow Earth sign Virgo, inspiring you creatively, bringing you flirtatious vibes, and encouraging you to have fun. Saturn, the taskmaster of the zodiac, is currently in philosophical Sagittarius, sending you some obstacles around less fun and flirty themes, like sex (okay, that can be fun and flirty; however, I promise grumpy Saturn is more interested in encouraging you to face your fears around intimacy than about hooking you up with partners), death and endings, trust, and also complicated financial issues like resources you share with a partner or inheritances.

Jupiter and Saturn planets will clash on March 23; with that, the fun and flirty things in your life will collide with the deep and sticky stuff you've been working on. Intense stuff! A one-night stand may stumble upon some private letters, a creative partner may learn the difficult source of your current inspiration, or you may just realize that having fun acts as a Band-Aid for your fears and sadness. Either way, this is not a day to act irresponsibly.

The lunar eclipse in Libra will shed light on all the ways you've been undermining your general wellbeing. Hopefully, by the time the lessons of this eclipse sink in, you'll have a good idea of how you can transform your daily schedule to be more beneficial to you. This eclipse is huge for revealing flaws in your work/life balance and for opening your eyes to problems in your workplace. Bad habits and unhealthy behaviors will get addressed.

March 25 is another important day to watch out for this month: Saturn begins its retrograde, retracing its steps through Sagittarius and asking you to rethink all the stuff going on around those complicated, sensitive issues we just discussed—especially the issues that you've been working with since August 2015. All of that is up for review now.

This is a pivotal month for your friendships, Taurus, and very deep issues will be worked out by the end of the month. March begins with the Sun in sensitive Pisces but ends with the Sun in bad ass Aries—you might worry at first that your empathy for everyone else will prevent you from doing what you need to do in order to take care of yourself—but don't worry, Taurus, you'll have the balls to do what's right for you!
