Broadly: Why do you oppose Trump's immigration restrictions?

Grant, 39, Miami: They are harmful to people who are here in the country legally. If we turn our local police into a federal gustappo then people will stop cooperating with them when it comes to the crimes that they are being paid to enforce, and that's counter-productive because it will create more situations where there's less transparency, the police are less affected, and you'll actually leave more criminals on the street, immigrant or not.

How do these new restrictions impact you or your loved ones?

My father-in-law is Muslim. He's from Lebanon. My wife is absolutely terrified from current events, and she has every right to be. I am obviously completely upset about it, too. It's creating questions where… people have lives in other places, and this is Miami, an international city, and people travel a lot. Most of Miami's business and commerce, including tourism, is based on people traveling. This is no different than requiring papers. If it's enforced ham-handedly like it was in Arizona, people could be required to carry papers everywhere they go. That sounds like the old Soviet Union to me. I'm not in favor of it.

"If I could say anything to Trump about the immigration restrictions, I would say…"

End them now, we know what you are trying to do, and it's unconstitutional.
