This interview is part of Broadly's Voices Against the Ban series. You can read more of these voices here.

Broadly: Why do you oppose Trump's immigration restrictions?

Alex, 26, Miami: Because like many people from Miami, my parents were immigrants… and there's a lot of people who are coming here all of the time. It's not right to change something that has been working so well for so many years.

How do these new restrictions impact you or your loved ones?

I have a lot of family that come all of the time from Columbia so I don't want that to affect them in the future in any way. I also have a lot of friend's who are suffering from the Muslim ban, and I'm totally against that, so… with my friends and family involved, I definitely have to put out my voice.

Can you finish this sentence: "If I could say anything to Trump about the immigration restrictions, I would say…"

Check your mom. She came here illegally too.
